Meet Timmy, our cocktail loving pup. Cocktails with Timmy started a few years ago. During the summer, we have “cocktail nights” where we either try a new cocktail or sip on one of our favorites. One night, I was taking a photo of our cocktail and Timmy photo-bombed the picture. It was super cute, so I posted it to Instagram. The next week, he did it again. And so #cocktailswithtimmy began.
Over the years, many people have asked me to share my recipes. Most of the cocktails we make are someone else’s recipe, but I’ll be sure to include the link so you can try it yourself. To get things started, here’s one of my favorites, a classic margarita, courtesy of Australian Women’s Weekly Food.
A classic margarita is about as easy as they come:
1.5oz silver tequila
1oz cointreau (or other orange-flavored liqueur)
1oz lime juice (I prefer to squeeze mine fresh)
ice
Shake it all up in a cocktail shaker, strain over ice, garnish with a lime slice, and enjoy!
Tip: we keep bottled lime juice on hand just in case we don’t have limes in the fridge for fresh squeezed.
