I’ve been following along a few blogger’s Friday Favorites post for years. And now that I have my own blog, I’m going to start linking up too. Here’s a little bit of what’s been going on with us this past week.
Dance Recital!

My gorgeous girl’s dance recital is definitely a favorite this week. For the first time since COVID, the recital was back in a real theater on a real stage (last year it was on an outdoor stage in a parking lot). Our beautiful dancer took to the stage 17 times over the course of three shows and did an amazing job every. single. time. I just love watching her perform. It makes me burst with so much pride and joy!
This year is the tenth anniversary of our dance studio and we’ve been a part of it since day one! I feel so lucky that we found such a wonderful studio and have made great friends over the years.
Book Lovers

I’ve been reading Emily Henry’s latest Book Lovers this week. And so far, I like it! It’s a cute, light summer read about a NYC book agent and her nemesis, a NYC editor, who both find themselves in a small town in North Carolina for entirely different reasons. I haven’t finished it yet but I suspect that I know where it’s heading…
I also have a few books that all became available on Libby all at once. I’m hoping I can get through at least a few of them before I have to return them.
- Weather Girl by Rachel Lynn Solomon
- Love Your Life by Sophie Kinsella
- The Summer Place by Jennifer Weiner
- The Lifeguards by Amanda Eyre Ward
- One Night on the Island by Josie Silver
My holds list is long at the moment, too. Probably because this is the season for beach read new releases. I’m looking forward to reading Elin Hildebrand’s The Hotel Nantucket and Katharine McGee’s Rivals.
This Week’s CSA Share
We still have a lot of greens in the share, so we’ve been eating salads basically every day over here. But we also picked sugar snap peas and the first blueberries this week which was exciting! The blueberries are one of my favorite crops of the season, even though we have to pick them ourselves. There is nothing quite like eating a sweet, ripe blueberry straight from the bush.

Since we get more garlic scapes than I can use in a week, I diced them up and put them in the freezer for use throughout the summer. They are an easy addition to eggs, stir fries, and sautéed veggies. I’m also going to freeze the Swiss chard for use in soups and stews. One of my favorite recipes that calls for Swiss chard is this winter minestrone by Giada De Laurentiis. It’s a favorite when the weather turns cool in the fall!
That’s it for me this week. I hope you have a wonderful weekend celebrating the father’s in your life!
